Show and tell: Event as Dissent
Seminar on April 6. and 7. that took place at multiple sites in Aarhus.
Challenging the traditional conference format, around 25 participants moved between three different cultural institutions on the first day: ARoS Aarhus Art Museum, non-space, and Sigrids Stue and Sleep-In Gellerup. Each of the sites differ in their historical background, financial capacities, and perception on public engagement.
On the second day of the seminar, we gathered for workshop and discussion of experiences drawn from the first day in another institutional form, Aarhus University.
The Affects, Interfaces, Events project group have since discussed the implications of such a mobile conference format and will continue to explore alternatives to the often isolating and static academic formats.
